Marvel’s Silver Age, issued as a 66-card Donruss set. It’s widely described as the first trading card set to feature Spider-Man and Captain America. Six heroes get 11 cards each: Captain America, Iron Man, Daredevil, Spider-Man, the Hulk and Thor. The fronts use comic-panel art, including work by Steve Ditko, with tongue-in-cheek captions. Fourteen “Write Your Own” cards invited kids to add their own caption, so clean, unmarked copies are hard to find. The backs build a large puzzle of all six heroes. The Spider-Man run (#34–44) and card #1 are the cards collectors want first.
